Mason's 6 Month Check-up

Mason had his 6 month check up yesterday. He weighed in at 20lbs 8oz and was 29 inches tall. He's in the 90th percentile for weight and off the chart for height. Heidi and I have decided to scale back the nightly HGH injections. The doc said that he's doing great!

Way to go Mase!

I'm a busy man...get on with it.

Nolan's a mover and a shaker, oftentimes wrapping up deals before he even leaves the house for school. Donnie Trump better watchout!

Nolan's 3rd Birthday(or should I say week)

We celebrated Nolan's 3rd Birthday last week, and I literally mean WEEK. On Saturday, we had his official birthday party which included a tour of one of the local fire stations. All the kids got to get in one of the fire trucks and learned about fire safety. I was even paying attention. Afterwards, everyone came over to the house for lunch, cake and a Fire Truck pinata. Nolan's actual birthday was on Tuesday so we took him to Disneyland for the day followed by a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese with his cousins and mommom and poppop. The next day Nolan got to celebrate again at school. Whew...see what I mean by "week." Anyways, it’s hard to believe that our baby is already 3 years old. He’s grown so much both physically and mentally. We often sit back and marvel at what he “shoots out” and comes up with. He brings us joy every single day and, as parents, we are truly blessed to have been giving such an amazing gift.

Ah, What Have You Guys Been Up To?

...I practically forgot how to post things on the blog its been so long. I'll do my best to bring everyone up-to-date. Also, you'll notice the new look. Just trying to keep things fresh.

Nolan participated in his first race recently. Our city holds an annual "Get Fit Race" and they had a 1k for all the little tikes this year.

Baseball season is upon us and we've ventured to a few games with the whole family. Mason's been great at the games...he just sits there and takes in the game and eventually falls asleep while Nolan goes through his progression of a hot dog, peanuts and the seventh inning stretch. We can't leave the ballpark until after they sign "Take Me Out To The Ballgame."

Nolan has also started his soccer rotation. Here he is before his first practice.

How's Mason?

Mason had his 4 month check up this week. He weighed in at 18lbs and Heidi forgot the height. He's in the ninetith percentile for both weight and height. Kid's an ox. He's been smiling a ton and, as Heidi says, "talking a bunch too. Nolan's been really good to his little brother, always wanting to know where Mason's at. Our doctor gave us the green light to start him on rice cereal so Heidi experimented with that this morning. He got a few bites in before being over it.

Mason's been sleeping relatively well; some nights he sleeps through the night and some nights he wakes up around 3AM for a brief feeding. We consider ourselves pretty lucky considering what we went through with Nolan. Heidi's been working with him on "tummy time" but it seems like he just wants to skip the whole crawling thing and move on to standing up and walking. I can't blame him though. He sees Nolan zinging by every ten seconds and just wants to get in the mix.

Mason's mom and dad continue to discover the idiosyncrasies of "life with two," sometimes feeling way overwhelmed and sometimes feeling really blessed. In the end though, it's all good!

The last few weeks...

We have been up to a lot the last few weeks, at least it seems like it, so I created a short slideshow (which I hope works) for everyone to enjoy. Uncle Jose visited us from Colorado, Nolan started t-ball, Mason's holding his head up and very active and we even managed to sneak in a week up in Utah before Heidi returns to work. (Our Utah trip will be detailed in another posting; too much to cover).
