Crystal Cove State Park

The markets were closed yesterday so that meant daddy had the day off. We loaded up the boys in the Griswold family station wagon and headed down to Crystal Cove State Park. It was a marvelous day and we really enjoyed the boys. Heidi even agreed to let me post some pictures that include her (I keep telling her she looks great--one hot momma!).

Some additional photos of the gang...

...I believe a brief disclaimer is warranted here. I have been prohibited from posting any photos that include Heidi for the time being.

Nolan and Mason sitting in the couch.

Taking Riley for a walk has become an outing in-and-of itself The set-up includes Mason in the pouch, Nolan on top a daddy's head, and Riley leading the way and great coordination.

Nolan's News

We transitioned Nolan to a new Preschool in January. He's going for half-days on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (gives Mom a break and let's her get in some QT with baby Mason). He really looks froward to going; always wants to make sure his new buddy Asher is going to be there. He loves "Going on a Bear Hunt" and learning zoophonics. The school is a part of Christian church so Nolan goes to chapel once a week on Wednesdays. The other night we were getting him ready for bed and he looks at both of us and burst out, "There is power in the name of Jesus." Chapel has had an impact obviously...

Nolan also started his first organized sports league. We signed him up for an Itty Bitty Basketball program put on by the local YMCA. Of course, Dad got suckered into coaching. It's absolute chaos but at least the kids get out there and run around for an hour. Needless to say, Nolan sleeps good on basketball nights.

Pretty Bird...

Such a man!

Mason's progress.

It's hard to believe that Mason's been alive for almost 10 weeks. We're starting to get the hang of life (or lack thereof) with two children. Nolan's accepted sharing the spotlight and is always concerned about "Where's Mason?"

Mason had his two month appointment last Friday. He weighed in at 13.4lbs and measured 24 inches so he's almost doubled in weight (he must have gotten into one of Dad's protein shakes). He's in the ninetieth percentile for both height and weight and the doc said everything looks normal. He's exploring his surroundings a lot; constantly looking around. He's able to hold his head up on his own and as far as we can tell it looks like he's going to have brown eyes just like his mama. He blessed us with a night of solid sleep--slept from 10pm to 6am--about a week ago but hasn't done that again. He's fighting a cold and the sniffles seem to keep him up at night but we're are hopeful that maybe after he get's over his cold that he'll start sleeping through most of the night. He is a very happy baby, always cooing, smiling and brighting our day and it's only appropriate that his favorite friends are a monkey and a tree frog.

Ha, ha...I tooted.
