It seems that Mason has been observing Riley (our LARGE Lab)and his behaviors. Heidi just caught Mason doing the butt scoot across the carpet similar to what Riley does when he's extremely happy or has an itch.
He's not crawling yet but he can certainly, "Butt Scoot." (Maybe this is a precursor to the "worm").

We've been infected...
We managed to stay healthy for several weeks--Nolan's school has had the flu circulating for several weeks and everyone around us has battled it--but we finally succumbed yesterday. Around 6 last night, Nolan was sitting on the couch and looks at us and says, "I don't think I feel very good." About an hour later he was yakking. Heidi is also on the verge.
Mason and I are quarantining ourselves at a nearby motel...

Utah Trailer
Here's a short video about our trip to Utah for the 4th. I'll chronicle our trip in more detail on a later posting.
(I apologize about the tune but I just picked one of their songs since songs from iTunes aren't in an MP3 format. ARGH Apple!)

Angels vs. Mets
The NY Mets are in town this week playing the Angels in Interleague play so we invited Team Berini to the game last night. Naturally, the Berini family was bleeding Mets blue and the Mejias' were donning Angels red. This was Isaac's first big league ballgame--he did great! All the boys did really good and we managed to stay until after the seventh inning stretch. Best of all, the Angels won 6-1 (Sorry Greg!). Of note: Nolan ate two hot dogs, peanuts, cotton candy and a bucket of ice cream dots. Pretty amazing for a kid who usually gets by on one or two chicken nuggets and a couple sippy cups of juice a day.

Team Velo Mejias and our Day at Surf City USA
We loaded up the wagon, or "Frank the Tank" as we affectionately call him, this morning and headed down to Huntington Beach for a ride along the beach with the kids. Mommy had Nolan in tow and Daddy had Mason. It was quite a production let me tell you. It's a miracle no one got hurt and that we were actually able to get on the bikes and log in some miles. That being said, we couldn't have asked for a better day; not too hot with just enough of a breeze. Absolutely gorgeous. Nolan loved it and Mason pretty much slept for the entire ride.

After our ride, we found a nice spot on the beach, had lunch, played in the sand and hung out for a couple of hours. This was Mason's first time on the beach (I think he was more interested in chewing his shoe).

It was a great way to spend our first Sunday of the Summer!
